SWG NYFW Superlatives

After a week filled with late hours, blistered feet, and one too many headsets, we are excited to share a brief recap of the NY Fashion Week events our PR team managed this season. Check out the list below to see all of our superlatives.

KATE SPADE NEW YORK
Everyone’s favorite social media girl, Kate Spade, presented us with an array of bright colors and playful patterns at their Spring 2013 presentation. Straw bags, statement necklaces and quirky accessories were piled on the models and flowers occupied every corner of the room; making us feel like we were at the perfect spring picnic. Walking into the room instantly put a smile on our face – (Brad Goreski may have played a factor in this), so it should come to no surprise that we’re naming this kate spade new york collection, Best Collection to Brighten Up Your Day.

MM6 MAISON MARGIELA
MM6 Maison Martin Margiela showed for the first time this NYFW, and managed to put on one of the most unique presentations we’ve ever been too.  The champagne and intimate setting provided the perfect atmosphere to view the amazing backpacks, neon kicks, and military-inspired collection. With plenty of parachute pants, raw edges, slight pops of pastel and “marsupial” totes, it was easy to give MM6 the superlative of Best Way to Get the Avant-Garde Look Without Breaking the Bank.

SCHUTZ
This Fashion Week Madison Avenue got a new resident as the popular Brazilian shoe brand, Schutz, moved into their first US home. With an endless array of heels and flats in a variety of different colors and textures, it’s safe to say we nearly bought the whole store. That’s why we’re naming Schutz, Best Brazilian Import … after Gisele of course.

PARSONS GRADUATE RUNWAY SHOW
As much as we love the classic designer shows, we always love seeing what the aspiring students of Parsons put down the runway. With eighteen students from countries all around the world, there’s at least one piece that’s bound to tickle your fancy. They may not be big yet, but certainly keep an eye out for these talented Parsons Alumni. This show wins Best Designers to Look Out for at Barney’s in the Upcoming Seasons.

CHRISTIAN SIRIANO
We’ve watched him become an amazing designer from the early days of Project Runway, but this season Christian Siriano proved he wasn’t just talented in creating beautiful ball gowns. With a ballet inspired collection that focused on skinny trousers and sweet tulle confections, Christian Siriano is the Best Thing to Ever Come Out of Reality Television.

COSTELLO TAGLIAPIETRA
We’re always big fans of the suspender-wearing duo, Costello Tagliapietra, so it came to no surprise that our love for their draped slinky dresses continued this season. As much as we look forward to their painterly prints and overlaid two-tones on the runway, we’re always anxious to hear what The MisShapes have mixed up for this season. That’s why Costello Tagliapietra wins Best Show with Leigh Lezark Front Row and Behind the Scenes. They always say, you should be beautiful inside and out, or in this case front row and through the speakers.

AG JEANS
With so many fun parties and stores to visit on FNO, it’s difficult to choose to where to go, but there was one must-visit spot on our list, the AG Jeans and Scoop Block Party. The free cocktails, great music, guest appearances and free gifts with purchase – all in the heart of meatpacking, made this party easy to claim the name of FNO’s Best Block Party.
